The Scottish Printing Archival Trust was formed in 1988 to con_serve 'know_ledge and examples of Scotland's print_ing her_it_age for the bene_fit of the public and print/media education'. The Trust pro_motes interest in the his_tory of the Scottish print_ing industry, which is one of Scotland's oldest. It does not hold any archival col_lec_tions itself, but works with vari_ous insti_tu_tions to ensure that print_ing archives and arte_facts are not lost.
